Story
Before the lights went out, Jack Warrant never considered himself a prepper. That was someone on the edge, a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday cultist who had a fatalistic view of the world. He was neither a theorist nor a cultist. He was an optimist. At least that was what he told himself when the darker thoughts creeped into his psyche as he stared at the ceiling in the middle of the night. Whenever he started down the rabbit hole, he always clawed his way back into the sunlight.

Story
In a steel-and-lead-encased bunker 20 feet below the basement level of his house, a soldier waits for his final orders. On the surface, a plague ravages the planet, infecting over 90% of the populace. The bacterium burrows through the brain, destroying all signs of humanity and leaving behind little more than base, prehistoric instincts. The infected turn into hyper-aggressive predators, with an insatiable desire to kill and feed. Someday soon, the soldier will have to open the hatch to his bunker, and step out into this new wasteland, to complete his mission....

Publisher's summary
From USA Today Best Selling Author WJ Lundy comes a thrilling post-apocalyptic tale of survival, treachery, and humanity’s primal instincts.
Two years since the world changed forever, humankind has learned to coexist with the infected, claiming the day while the Primals rule the night. Behind fortified walls, survivors have carved out a meager existence, always with one eye towards the shadowy threats beyond their safe havens.
But now, an age-old war for power and resources is reigniting, threatening to shatter the fragile peace. As the clamor of battle grows louder, the Primals, drawn by the sounds of conflict, begin to stir from beyond the walls of the cities they once called home.In the midst of this mounting chaos, Brad finds himself trapped between warring factions, facing choices that could determine the fate of what remains of humanity. As alliances are tested and betrayals surface, the primal resurgence is imminent.
Dive into a world where civilization's remnants are in a desperate struggle against nature's darkest evolution, and where every decision can mean the difference between life and extinction.

Once a member of an elite underground unit, the only wars Thomas knows now are the ones that rage inside him. All he wants is to stay under the radar of existence, trying to forget the past and isolating himself from the present.
