Publisher's summary
Idris Elba and Sabrina Elba present sci-fi mystery thriller Halfway, an Audible Original.
Starring Patricia Allison as Florence, Lenny Henry as Cole, Arinzé Kene as Mark, and George Mackay as Oliver.
Leading the field of artificial intelligence, Halfway, a subsidiary of Soul-Tech, provides customers with the opportunity to digitally upload their minds so that in the eventuality of their death, loved ones will be able to communicate with an AI simulation and gain closure. But at what cost?
A year after her brother Mark’s death, Florence is still consumed by grief. And though her parents encourage her not to dwell on the past, Florence decides to visit Halfway and speak to the simulation of Mark that was created not long before his passing. But instead of putting her mind at ease, speaking with the replica of her brother only unleashes destabilising questions and opens old wounds. Why are Mark’s uploaded memories different from Florence’s? Why are the circumstances surrounding Mark’s death becoming less clear? And what does Halfway have to hide?
Also starring Chizzy Akudolu as Delores, Jeremy Ang Jones as James, Jude Akuwudike as Omar, Sharon D Clarke as Afua, Aurora Dawson-Hunte as Shanice, Kevin N Golding as Jackson, Penny Layden as Anne, Hattie Morahan as Karen, Nneka Okoye as Megan and Grace Saif as Amissha.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Story
Professor Edelstein examines the enduring appeal of Judy Blume’s books. Over seven lessons, you’ll learn how Blume pioneered middle-grade and young adult (YA) literature and helped to make these genres the global sensations they are today. You’ll identify the themes and motifs that run throughout her books, and you’ll review Blume’s books as literary work worthy of analysis. You’ll also see why the very act of questioning (about the existence of God, the persistence of racism, the unwritten rules of suburbia) is so central to Blume’s vision of coming-of-age literature.

Wow
Such a gripping story and well acted. I set aside the time to listen in one sitting and I’m not disappointed. I hope to hear more of the story!

Powerful story and performance
The story was well-written and engaging. The plot was surprising. It had me wanting to know what was next. There were a lot of unexpected moments. Hopefully, there will be a part two.

I wish it were longer. Listened twice
I passively listened to this while working and it was so good I had to go back and actively listen. I want more from this. There is so much more that can come out of this. Love the full cast and all of the sounds. It’s great

Production decisions ruined this for me.
The story was good, riveting, though the ending was totally dissatisfying. As if another episode is required to bring a conclusion. What ruined the entire production for me, however, were the incessant yet ambiguous background sounds. Sounds such as breathing, eating, and shuffling, regardless of the significance to the story.

Story Somewhat Confusing
I really wanted like this but in end the end I found myself scratching my end. I say "end" somewhat graciously because I am not sure truly did - at least not to my satisfaction.

ridiculous story but well acted
The story is full of obvious plot holes. Why could the AIs only be dead people, if you were creating them while they were still alive? why was it such a crazy unexpected idea to use living people? why in this universe had nobody ever thought of sentient androids living with humans before now? how could you generate a real talking AI based on a person's Instagram, never mind an in-home robot you could have intimate contact with? the ending makes no sense either.
good actors though.

Can I give a story less than 1 star
3 hours of my life wasted. PLEASE SKIP THIS!!! The wasted potential. . . Ugg! Even the performers could not make this story less awful.
