An Affordable and Effective Therapist for Teachers
The best reason to have this book is to have a colleague who actually knows what it is like to be in the trenches of teaching.
I was impressed with her backstory and even the smart investments she and her husband made.
Although you will hear it from fellow teachers and even admin, it's very satisfying to listen to a seasoned coach how important it is to incorporate "Self Care" into teaching.
I found the personal stories to be so much more relatable than a typical textbook on the psychology of teaching.
If you are a teacher, please know that you MUST take care of yourself and find some resources, such as those found in this book, to avoid burnout.

A good companion for the burned out
I liked this.
If you've experienced burnout – whether as an educator or in another profession – you might find value in this, too! The writer understands the pressures we put on ourselves and offers practical steps for fostering greater well-being.
Each chapter is short and focused, ideal for busy schedules. While primarily geared towards teachers, the advice translates to various life situations.
Particularly useful are the "Invitations" sections, which offer prompts and actionable tips for self-reflection and positive change. Don’t expect groundbreaking revelations, but Hall’s writing offers a gentle reassurance that could inspire a re-evaluation of priorities.
I found this to be a worthwhile listen if you’re ready to address burnout and cultivate a more balanced life. It’s a supportive companion.

A Treasure Trove of Wisdom Inside
One of the book's standout features is its holistic approach to well-being. Sybil doesn't just offer quick fixes; she delves into the core principles of resilience, self-love, and balance. Whether it's equipping oneself to bounce back from adversity, rediscovering the joy of teaching through self-care, or harmonizing classroom life with personal well-being, Sybil provides actionable strategies backed by her own journey.
What sets this book apart is its applicability both inside and outside the classroom. While educators will find invaluable tools to enhance their own well-being, the included exercises are also tailored for students, fostering a culture of emotional intelligence and resilience in the classroom.
In a profession often fraught with stress and burnout, "Well-Being Wisdom for Educators" shines as a beacon of hope. Sybil's wisdom illuminates the path toward a more fulfilling and sustainable teaching journey, where well-being isn't just a lofty ideal but a tangible reality. For educators seeking to flip the switch on burnout and let well-being light the way, this book is an indispensable companion.

balance is important
I just felt deeply touched after reading/listening to this book. Burn out is difficult. I've been working very hard for a while, and there was one time I got a quite serious burnout. Actually it was building up gradually over a period of time, but i just didn't realize it beforehand. I don't remember what was the last straw, it was probably something small, but when it hit, it just felt like everything's purpose-less. Teaching isn't an easy job. You deal with the stress that people aren't aware of. And you still need to burn yourself to help light up others, which i think is probably the most difficult part. No matter how exhausted inside, we bring the best to our audience. take a good care of yourselves, ourselves.

A Timely Masterpiece
The book is cleverly structured around 35 compelling stories, each accompanied by a lesson in well-being. These narratives are more than just anecdotes; they are lifelines thrown to teachers submerged in the often-overwhelming demands of their profession. Hall's voice, both compassionate and authoritative, guides the reader through these lessons with the care of a mentor who has walked the path and knows its pitfalls and peaks.
