From New York Times bestselling author of The Perfect Marriage and You Shouldn’t Have Come Here comes a chilling family thriller about the (sometimes literal) skeletons in the closet.

After their mother passes, three estranged siblings reunite to sort out her estate. Beth, the oldest, never left home. She stayed with her mom, caring for her until the very end. Nicole, the middle child, has been kept at arm’s length due to her ongoing battle with a serious drug addiction. Michael, the youngest, lives out of state and hasn’t been back to their small Wisconsin town since their father ran out on them seven years before.

While going through their parent’s belongings, the siblings stumble upon a collection of home videos and decide to revisit those happier memories. However, the nostalgia is cut short when one of the VHS tapes reveals a night back in 1999 that none of them have any recollection of. On screen, their father appears covered in blood. What follows is a dead body and a pact between their parents to get rid of it, before the video abruptly ends.

Beth, Nicole, and Michael must now decide whether to leave the past in the past or uncover the dark secret their mother took to her grave.

MUST READ OF THE YEAR!!!

You know when you hear about a book, it makes it way all over social media, and there are rave reviews…and you get disappointed because it doesn’t live up to the hype? THIS IS NOT THAT BOOK!!!
This is the book that breaks the mold and surpasses all the hype. I am truly shocked at how I could not put this book down, how fast I flew through reading it, and I am marveled by the story and the twists and turns and jaw dropping moments. Not only is this an incredible read, but Jeneva Rose intertwines pieces of herself and her hometown into the story. Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant!
P.S. Listen to the acknowledgments! 🫶🏼

Amazing story she is just overall a great writer

It’s weird to say but I have been dealing with so much lately but this book really made me feel somewhat better. I solved the murder and it made me feel great cause I did something other than worry or think about my life. But honestly loved it couldn’t stop once I got started. 🥰

Excellent cast, ok story

I'm a big fan of Jeneva's books but this one missed the mark a bit. The cast was excellent and did a great job with each character. The book lacks something that I can't quite explain. It just fell flat and felt like maybe she rushed it. The story was very predictable and feels like a story that's been told before. The ending was very dull as well. Overall it was ok but I know it could have been so much better.

great book.

The story line was so well written! It made this book to where you didn't want to put it down. I had headphones in just listening to the story. The twist and turns in the plot made you want to hear more. I can't say enough good things about this book.
