    This week's show starts with Japan and China working to accelerate cooperation through dialogue, Blinken spoke about how the US eels about Ukraine using US weapons for attacks inside Russia, Mossad has been threatening ICC prosecutors for 10 years, many European nations are considering reinstating mandatory military service, and many countries respond to the Israeli attack on Palestinians in a tent camp marked safe. The UN criticized North Korea for a failed satellite launch and missile tests this week. North Korea sent balloons with trash and excrement into the south as retaliation for propaganda laden balloons sent from the south last week. Iran is preparing for a presidential election next month. At a press conference Anthony Blinken was asked about how the US felt about their weapons being used for attacks inside Russia. China President Xi reaffirmed support for an independent Palestinian state and promised more aid for Gaza. From FRANCE- First a press review from the Guardian investigation into a decade long Israeli campaign of intimidation against prosecutors at the International Criminal Court. A press review about permafrost melting in Alaska polluting 75 rivers. At the Presidential election in Mexico this weekend, a woman President is most likely to become the first in any North American country. Zelensky is visiting European nations, receiving 30 F-16 fighter jets from Belgium by 2028- Ukrainian military announced there were upcoming military instructors from France- and European nations are contemplating the revival of compulsory military service for young people. From CUBA- A report on the Israeli attack on a Palestinian tent camp in Rafah that was a designated safe camp. The UNRWA and most of the world condemned the attack called on Israel to implement the measures called for by the ICJ (International Court of Justice) last week. Brazilian president Lula da Silva withdrew his country's Ambassador to Israel, supported by the Colombian President Petro who also removed his ambassador. A court ruled that he can have another appeal to block his extradition to the US for publishing documents exposing US war crimes and espionage. His wife, Stella, and the current editor in chief of Wikileaks are interviewed. From FRANCE- First a review of the international press on the death of Iranian President Raisi, a controversial hardliner. Press reviews on the ICC recommending arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Gallant, and 3 Hamas officials. Norway, Ireland and Spain recognized a Palestinian state- an interview with the Palestinian Ambassador to France, Hala Abou Hassira. She talks about the state recognition, and that the only possible solution is political, not military. While the US and UK condemned the ICC warrants, France and most other EU countries did not. From CUBA- The WHO Director-General deplored the appalling conditions in the Gaza Strip, caused by the intentional seizing and closing of border crossings for aid trucks. In Britain antiwar activists have been demonstrating outside weapon factories. Protestors have been interrupting speeches by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. The government of Bolivia has contributed 70 tons of humanitarian aid to Brazil to help with those affected by the tragic floods.     This week's show begins with Putin visiting the Chinese President, an interview with an UNWRA spokesperson who just returned from 6 weeks in Rafah, Japan complains about Sen. Lindsey Graham who said Israel was right as the US was in using nuclear bombs in 1945, dozens of areas in Mexico broke all time record high temperatures last week.

    This week's show features stories from France 24, NHK Japan, and Radio Havana Cuba. http://youthspeaksout.net/swr240517.mp3 (29:00) From FRANCE- An interview with Louise Wateridge, UNWRA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine) spokesperson, who had just returned from six weeks on the ground in Gaza. She describes the situation in Rafah before the current attacks, with severe overcrowding and almost no food. In 6 days most of the Palestinians fled in terror to Al-Mawasi under constant bombardment. UNWRA and the World Food Program tried to provide food but aid trucks had been blocked at the borders for a week. Louise does not believe that the US pier will be able to reverse the starvation. UNRWA had to close its doors in East Jerusalem following an arson attack by chanting Israeli demonstrators on its grounds- the UN and EU strongly condemned this attack. Putin is visiting the Chinese President to further their record economic alliances- China denies American accusations that it supplies arms to Russia. From JAPAN- Residents of Okinawa continue to demand a larger pullout of US military and deployment of missiles in their area. Hiroshima held its annual reading of the names of the 339,227 people who died from the US bomb in 1945. Atomic bomb survivors launched a protest with the US over recent comments by Senator Lindsey Graham who likened the Israel Gaza conflict to the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on steroids- saying it was the right decision. Japan's electricity demand is about to soar because of generative Artificial Intelligence server farms. The navies of the US and Taiwan conducted another covert military drill, increasing tension with China. Netanyahu says the Rafah ground offensive will last weeks, not months, as the US prepares to send another billion dollar round of weapons to Israel. From CUBA- Dozens of areas in Mexico experienced record high temperatures last week, up to 124 degrees F. Brazil has been hit with extreme rainfall and tragic flooding. At least 500 medical personnel have been killed in Gaza, along with 35,000 Gazans, mostly women and children. Pro-Palestinian demonstrations continue across colleges around the world.
