About the Creator

Australian singer-songwriter Natalie Imbruglia was propelled into the limelight in 1997 with her breakthrough debut album Left of the Middle. She first stole our hearts with her chart-topping smash hit, ‘Torn,’ the most played song on Australian radio since 1990! The song became an immediate international hit in November 1997 reaching #2 on the UK Singles Chart, #1 airplay around the world and #1 on the Billboard Airplay chart for 14 weeks, with more than a million copies sold in the UK alone. Left of the Middle went on to sell over 7 million copies worldwide and celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2022.
Following the release of five subsequent albums, Natalie made a triumphant return with her critically acclaimed sixth studio album, Firebird, released in 2021, which shot straight to No. 10 in the chart. Following on from the success of Firebird, Natalie has performed extensively in the UK and Europe, as well as made headlines in homeland Australia, hosting the prestigious ARIA Awards and performing alongside the maestro that is Andrea Bocelli and his family.
Natalie has won eight Aria’s, two Brit Awards, one Billboard Music Award and received three Grammy nominations. Most recently, Natalie won the third series of the UK version of The Masked Singer and made a surprise cameo on the final episode of Neighbours, reprising her popular role as Beth Brennan.
Having just finished a string of live dates in the UK this summer and touring Australia and NZ with The Corrs, Natalie is currently working on new material and has a live album due for release in 2024.

About the Creator

Dorothea Mackellar OBE (1885-1968), an influential Australian poet and writer, penned the iconic words ‘I love a sunburnt country’ to describe the Australian landscape that captured her heart in one of Australia’s best-known poems, ‘Core of my heart,’ also known as ‘My country.’
Dorothea was born at ‘Dunara’ in 1885, her family’s residence in Sydney’s Point Piper, where she spent most of her life. Educated at home, she became fluent in several languages, and also attended lectures at the University of Sydney. Dorothea began writing in her teens. ‘Core of my heart’ was written when she was 19.
She produced a substantial output of published work covering the years 1908-1926 and was one of the founders of the Sydney PEN Club (Publishers, Editors and Novelists) during the 1930s. Much of the bush poetry that she wrote was inspired by periods spent on her brothers’ farms in New South Wales where she threw herself wholeheartedly into the rural way of life and was an accomplished horsewoman.

Natalie's voice is so soothing

Wonderful, soothing sleep sound from Natalie Imbriglia. Love the Australian poetry, so evocative. Great choice if you are struggling to sleep!

Excellent performance

Excellent performance I wish it was longer four minutes pretty quick It’s a nice piece of poetry that I could probably listen to multiple times but of course more would be better.
