Excellent 4 Star Listen

A J Tata brings back Jake Mahegan for his second book in the series. Jake is an ex-Special Forces soldier still doing work for the government. He's on the trail of an Army Reservist geologist who is forced to steal natural gas after some bad guys kidnap her daughter. The deeper Jake digs the more there seems to be to the plot than just making big money. Lots of fast paced action and suspense in this political thriller. Plus we get more of Jake's back story. Can't wait for the next book!

Jonathan Davis was outstanding with the delivery of the story

Good story but...

I wish that the author knew the difference between BURST MDDE and SEMIAUTO. SEMIAUTO means that one pull of the trigger shoots ONE bullet. BURST MODE means that one pull of the trigger shoots THREE bullets. Otherwise, I liked the story.

Absolutely amazing!

I love how this series is 60% badass and 40% history and science lesson! Narrator is in the top 10 as well!

my only comment would be to have the narrator not talk so soft at times. found myself having adjust the volume too many times

Engaging Thriller

I found the story quite engaging. Just when you think things are coming to a head...there are other twists. Very good from that perspective. On a personal note, I did not like the narration as much. That is more a personal thing than anything else. Some narrators resonate more than others with me. Still a good listen though. Main character can pretty much do it all.

Best reader in the genre

Good story, but the writing is inconsistent at times, enough to be distracting, like the character hears a sniper's gunshot and then a supersonic round whizzes by. The story is fun, though. The reader is one of the best, great voices, as fun as watching a movie. The story is action packed. I will listen to the next book in the series.

Really enjoying this series!

This is a well crafted story delivered in audio form by an excellent reader!
A complex and interesting story with vivid and believable characters, all with back-stories which gave them place, reason, and purpose.
The politics was not overt or heavy handed as with some other authors. Environmental issues, and weather you do or do not approve of fracking, was not the issue of the story. The story was about Jake Mohegan. He was the key, not the politics.
Truly an enjoyable read/listen in the espionage/thriller genre.

Good story line

I loved how the author tied things together at the end, from his childhood tragedy.
The narrator did an excellent job with the different voices.
I get a kick out of his name since my last name is Mehegan.
Can’t wait to read the next one.
