Publisher's summary

Kate Chopin's brilliant short story about an hour in the life of a young wife.

When news arrives that Louise's husband has been killed in a railroad accident, her family and friends are careful to break it to her gently, knowing that she has a heart condition. Louise locks herself in her room for an hour, during which she realizes that this bereavement is the start of a new life of freedom and independence. But a much greater shock awaits her when she leaves her room and goes downstairs....

Dramatic narrator

This is a great shorty, however, the narration is too much and really distracts more than accentuates

Narration too dramatic

The narration was just too much for me. It seemed forced and over the top, I really found it a distraction from the story.

A brilliant little story

This is one of my very favorite short stories. It manages to be complex and deep and hugely effective in a very short time. It is very well read by the narrator.

The Narrator is Horrible

I listen to a lot of audiobooks and this narrator is one of the most dramatic and annoying narrators I've ever heard. It's hard to get over the over-acting and bad narration, but the story is ok.
