Resumen del Editor
To mark the 150th anniversary of Gandhi’s birth, DK presents the audiobook of The Story of My Experiments with Truth: An Autobiography, narrated by Sagar Arya.
Gandhi's nonviolent struggles against racism, violence, and colonialism in South Africa and India had brought him to such a level of notoriety and adulation that when asked to write an autobiography midway through his career, he took it as an opportunity to explain himself.
He feared the enthusiasm for his ideas tended to exceed a deeper understanding of his quest for truth rooted in devotion to God. His attempts to get closer to this divine power led him to seek purity through simple living, dietary practices, celibacy, and a life without violence.
This is not a straightforward narrative biography. In The Story of My Experiments with Truth: An Autobiography, Gandhi offers his life story as a reference for those who would follow in his footsteps.
A well-known Indian actor, Sagar Arya has narrated over 35 audiobooks, including White Teeth by Zadie Smith, Love Like Blood by Mark Billingham, and audiobooks by Amish, and he brings his wealth of knowledge to this production. His television credits include A Touch of Frost, Hunted, Spooks, Casualty and Holby City. He appeared as Claudio in RSC’s Much Ado About Nothing as well as Twelfth Night (West End), The Great Game (Tricycle), and A Fine Balance (Hampstead).

Historia
His good friend Mark Twain dubbed him "St. Andrew." British Prime Minister William Gladstone called him an "example" for the wealthy. Such terms seldom apply to multimillionaires. But Andrew Carnegie was no run-of-the-mill steel magnate. At age 13 and full of dreams, he sailed from his native Dunfermline, Scotland, to America. Here, in one volume, are two impressive works by Andrew Carnegie himself: his autobiography and The Gospel of Wealth, a groundbreaking manifesto on the duty of the wealthy to give back to society all of their fortunes.

Holmes twice escaped death as a young Union officer in the Civil War when musket balls barely missed his heart and spinal cord. He lived ever after with unwavering moral courage, scorn for dogma, and an insatiable intellectual curiosity. Named to the Supreme Court by Theodore Roosevelt at age 61, he served for nearly three decades, writing a series of famous, eloquent, and often dissenting opinions that would prove prophetic in securing freedom of speech, protecting the rights of criminal defendants, and ending the Court's reactionary resistance to social and economic reforms.

Historia
This work, unsurprisingly, offers invaluable insights into the life and times of Charles Darwin, his personality and the formative influences that made him what he was, for here we have his own words and ‘voice’ at the close of a prodigiously productive career. He tells of his childhood, his student days at Edinburgh and Cambridge, his love of beetles, shooting and geology and of his grandfather, Josiah Wedgwood. He talks at some length about his meetings with the great scientific men of the age, his attitudes to his critics, to religion and of his theories of evolution.

life-changing!
What an inspiration, for a man to imperfectly sacrifice himself, and build his disciplines, such that he inspires the actions and sacrifice of others.
I hope to inspire my children and those around you using his seeing strategies in philosophy.
I will revisit this audiobook, many times :-)

Fulfilment of my childhood dream
I had a dream since my childhood (early seventies) that one day I will go through this epic like book of Bapu! Narrator has done full Justice to the text written by Mahatma!

This was really informative
The narration was immersive. It was captivating and informative. Lost of historical gems. A bit slow though.

More of an authentic narration
I went with this audiobook version because the narrator provided a more authentic feel and experience. It was fascinating to hear about Gandhi’s experiences in England and South Africa. Most of which I never knew about. Learning about life in the 1890s outside of the United States was also insightful.
