Wall Street Journal bestseller

Many people today think the Bible, the most influential book in world history, is not only outdated but irrelevant, irrational, and even immoral.

This explanation of the Book of Genesis, the first book of the Bible, demonstrates clearly and powerfully that the opposite is true. The Bible remains profoundly relevant - both to the great issues of our day and to each individual life. It is the greatest moral guide and source of wisdom ever written.

Do you doubt the existence of God because you think believing in God is irrational? This book will give you many reasons to rethink your doubts. Do you think faith and science are in conflict? You won’t after listening to this commentary on Genesis. Do you come from a dysfunctional family? It may comfort you to know that every family discussed in Genesis was highly dysfunctional!

The title of this commentary is The Rational Bible because its approach is entirely reason-based. The listener is never asked to accept anything on faith alone. In Dennis Prager’s words, “If something I write is not rational, I have not done my job.”

The Rational Bible is the fruit of Dennis Prager’s forty years of teaching the Bible - whose Hebrew grammar and vocabulary he has mastered - to people of every faith and no faith at all. Virtually across the book, you will discover how the text relates to the contemporary world in general and to you personally. His goal: to change your mind - and, as a result, to change your life.

Fantastic Jewish Perspective

I enjoyed this work from Dennis Prager, I learned much about the Jewish perspective regarding Genesis listening to it. It is humorous to hear Dennis try to explain away many of the numerous instances of Gods name used in plural and to also hear him address details that point to Yeshua without even noticing! Glory be to God who gives us people like Dennis to open our eyes to the details hidden within Jewish culture present in the Torah!

LOVE the way this is written

I absolutely love that he goes through, verse by verse, and explains in depth why it’s rational to believe each verse and cites his sources. You don’t find a lot of this in the secular world/higher education, and EVEN CHRISTIAN TEACHING anymore because they base most of their findings on emotion. Anyway, I digress. This is an AWESOME book for anyone looking to find actual information based entirely on facts/numbers and not on a person’s feelings. I’m a millennial, but I’m tired of hearing about everyone’s feelings.

That was terrific! Mind blown!

This is the first book I’ve ever read that I wanted to reread after only a few chapters it and take more notes!

This was so enlightening and a book I wish was around 30 years ago when I first became a Christian.

I felt like I was in a room of scholarly rabbis as they first deciphered and studied the Torah. At times I could see myself in the very place as events were happening!

I am glad I wasn’t living in those days, it was so vividly described and it had to be terribly difficult! I am especially glad that we don’t make deals reaching under and holding thighs like they did then, like Mr Prager, I rather like the handshake and signed contracts!

I truly love this and honestly will reread it, it’s that good and filled with teachings that my weak and sinful self needs constant training and reminding.

I’m getting the set as a gift to my pastor.

Making this shirt as the next book awaits ...

Guided by Jewish knowledge and it all makes sense

Perfect, really I enjoy Genesis in any true commentary. I am more exited and in awe of the origins than Jews sound exited to be original in it it seems. Just more wonder in telling and explaining the story ie History would be rational ; as it was intended. Let a Grandfather read Genesis to his grandchildren and you'll see.
You will need Elohiym to help you. :)

Great investment of time

Prager is a rational, clear voice in an otherwise very confused world. Society, civilization requires a foundation of meaning and post-modernism has tried to do away with that foundation. This content is what our laws and mores should be founded upon, and should be taught to our children starting as early as they can comprehend language.

A great modern commentary

Mr. Prager brings together a variety of insights into the meanings of the book of Genesis. He bases his work on a thorough knowledge of biblical Hebrew vocabulary, and grammar, and on the work of other commentators, traditional and modern. This book is well worth reading and studying.
