Publisher's summary

They disappeared.... That was just the beginning.

When five strangers are abandoned on an island without any idea where they are or whom to trust, their nightmarish new reality begins to unfold.

Someone is lying. Someone is hiding a terrible secret. They'd all do anything to get home.... Wouldn't they?

As the group struggles to uncover the truth about their mysterious whereabouts, only one thing is certain: Every choice they make on the island will affect the others.

And when they uncover a strange note with a chilling revelation, the group begins to question everything they thought they knew. If they want to make it off the island alive, they'll have to discover who brought them there and why...before it's too late.

Contains mature themes.

Excellent

I really liked this book. I don’t normally write reviews but this book was different. It has a very clever story line. Cheers to miss Modhlin and brava to Ms. Zanzarella on her performance. Charge On!!!

Interesting Ending

From the time the boat landed the story was ridiculous. I didn't think I was going to like it; there were so many unanswered questions in my mind. However, I must say the ending took me by surprise and saved the story.

Survival

What happens when people go missing and survival is key? This tale twists and turns and doesn’t disappoint. I couldn’t predict what would happen and a book that can keep me guessing while entertaining me will always get 5 stars.

Excellent narration

I really enjoyed this narrator. She really put so much inflection into her voice! the story was good and didn't turn out the way I expected, so that was refreshing.

Fair to middling

I would have preferred more info at the ending. But it was pretty good. I liked the narrator.

I mostly liked it until the end

I liked the story and it held my interest. The protagonist had some depth. I did have to suspend disbelief at times, but not too much.

But the ending? I am no writer, but I had a couple much better ideas for how to end this novel. I hated the ending.

I said that I mostly enjoyed the book - the narrator became too melodramatic for my taste. It was distracting.

I sense a bestseller…

Deservedly so… 5 strangers end up on a uncharted island by way of one bad decision. Now they have to survive.. together, or every person for themselves?
I found the subject although it’s been done in many ways, this was different. Interesting, realistic, sad, some romance. I was immersed throughout the book.
The narration was so good I got totally lost and forgot it was all Nicol. I have a sort of girl crush on her so she can do no wrong but she truly is talented. Grats to be author for finally giving us a good book!!!!

Beautifully Done

I read the arc for this book before the original publication, and I don’t think I have ever been so excited for a book. I won the opportunity to be a character in this book!

I bought this book on Audible while it was the book of the day and got it for an absolute steal. I figured, why not? It’s my book!

I love the characters. They are so well developed and vastly different from each other, but I love that their differences help unite them.

Ava is young and spunky, she isn’t afraid to speak her mind, but she also has an extreme naïveté to her that makes her vulnerable.

James is more brawn than brain in most situations, but he does have a heart of gold when he decides to show it. Quick to anger and skepticism, James isn’t afraid of making a tough decision.

Harry is such a soft, pure, beautiful soul. He is incredibly book smart; he knows so much about things most people wouldn’t have a clue about. Generous and kind, Harry truly wants the best for everyone.

Noah is like a pit bull- he may look and sound vicious, but he is such a genuine soul. Kind, caring, and protective, he isn’t afraid to do what he feels is right, no matter what.

Our main narrator is fierce. She’s intelligent but also the keeper of the peace. She tends to see the good in everyone and tries to be optimistic no matter her situation.

The premise for this story is terrifying. To think that a simple boat ride could end with being stranded on an island with strangers is the stuff of nightmares.

The narrator, Nicol Zanzarella, did an excellent job bringing this novel to life. She created every emotion so vividly, and she captured this book in a completely new way.

I enjoyed this novel so much. I loved the characters, the plot, the twist, and the ending. I was pleased with the narration as well.

Now I need part two: No Longer Missing, Cara meets her dad, justice is served, and each family gets told their loved one was murdered, and of course, a well deserved happily ever after. Come on, KMod… we all know you’re a wizard with surprise part 2’s!!
