A twisted page-turner...

Clearly, this author knows how to draw the reader in … and then never let go! This was a fun, suspense-y, slightly twisted read with some blurred lines (at one point, I almost couldn’t tell who was manipulating who … almost).

And this book is the moment I added Bannister to my ‘faves’ list.

Fresh start vibes.
Abduction.
Trafficking.
Stockholm syndrome.
Edg!ng.
Scheming, st@|king, manipulating…

Overall, I couldn’t put this down and hope to be able to read more in this series.
4.5 stars.

Puckett is a favorite narrator, and you really can’t go wrong with a full-cast audiobook. The overall sound quality was excellent—5 stars. 🦩

Mindblowing!

OMGosh! This one! This ONE! Geez its so mind bending! One minute I felt sorry for her but then man she is just as kneiving as he can be. Same with Connor..such a business man until she arrives….then WOW do things get all convoluted. I loved every second! Of course this ends in a cliffhanger (not my favorite) but that makes me very needy for the next part in this book.

I listened to this on audio. Sarah Puckett, Oliver Highpoint and Marcus Zarco did an amazing job narrating these characters and all their dilemmas.

I Need the next book ASAP!!

I couldn’t stop listening to this book, it was so good! It’s a Dark Romantic Suspense with lots of triggers so check TW list. There’s Trafficking, Abduction, captor/captive, Stockholm syndrome. I didn’t want this to end, This was an addictive listen for me. The narrators did an amazing job and really brought this book to life! Definitely Recommended!!

Dark!

The Cage is the perfect cross between dark romance and psychological thriller. It is dark and twisted and just the way I love my books. It kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning all the way until the end. I didn't expect it to end in a cliffhanger but I read that a sequel is coming soon which I can't wait to read or listen to. I had never heard of Danielle Bannister before but I will definitely be checking out her other books now. Sarah Puckett, Oliver Highpoint and Marcus Zarco all did an excellent job bringing this story to life.

The Cage

The Cage is the first book I've listened to by Danielle Bannister. This book is about Amanda Jackson and Conner Brooks and is told from both of their points of view.

Amanda is struggling to make it after leaving an abusive relationship. She finds a great deal on an apartment, almost too good to be true. When she gets there she meets Conner. She realizes the apartment isn't what it seems when he locks her in and says she's now his pet.

Conner is in the business of selling women, who don't have anyone in their lives who would notice they were missing. He wants to sell Amanda to Malcolm who sold him his building and he wants to get dirt on him.

How will Amanda take this new life she is in? What happens when Conner realizes that Amanda is different? What happens when Amanda meets Malcolm?

This was a fast read, and I'm interested to see what happens next.

I loved it and should also make an appointment with my therapist 😅

his one is a page-turner ... or non-stop listen! The heat seemed to pick up with each new paragraph. If you don't have any triggers, definitely pick this one up. Now, I need to find some water to help wash down all the spice I just read. The thirst is real!

mind games

A brilliantly written story of mind games. Amanda is kidnapped, she is trying to read her captor. She is looking for a way out. The only way is to beat him at his own game.
Connor, senses Amanda is different from his other "pets".
Why does she, of all of the girls, is getting under his skin?
Sarah Puckett, Oliver Highpoint, Marcus Zarco narration is phenomenal. They give their characters the emotions, and intensity in this dark story.
