I think we all know a family like the Kleinsasser

I have read or listen to all of C.J. Box's books. his Joe Picket series provided me with a whole winter season of entertainment. I like the way Box developes his characters . Just recently I moved to Cassie Dewell series on audio versions. Box's books have been a way to escape the state of our daily lives. It wasn't until the last few chapters that I realized the Kleinsasser family was mirroring a family we have been trying to escape. I hope the real life family faces the same justice that C.J. Box deals out to the Kleinsasser. Finger crossed 10/18/20. GOTV.

Box wrote another good book with this one. The human characters are well-developed and relatable, if not all likable. There are great plot twists. As a former law enforcement officer, Cassie doesn’t want to work for a defense attorney.

the narrator was the best. I really enjoyed listening to this book. I like to read so I didn't think would like to be read to. But I loved it. The narrator is great.

annoyed

The story was fast paced with many twist and turns. The main character annoyed a few times.

CJ box at his best

love this book, love the way it referred back to Cassie's work I'm the lizard King case.

Loved it

Box does it again! Cassie is a first rate investigator like her mentor coyt. Interesting characters and lots of twists and turns. Couldn't help but feel sorry for the oldest son but the others got their just rewards. The narrators staccato voice was grating at first but I eventually got wrapped up in the story and adjusted to it.

Bitter Taste

The ending needs major surgery. It almost seems that the author became bored with the book or needed to meet a deadline.
Not up to Box standards.
Evil women replacing dumber evil men is a battle that rings true.

Another C. J. Box engaging story

Great story along with a good performance by the reader. Really enjoyed, a recommended buy.

For A Change

I am a Joe Pickett fan. So I wanted to try a slight change of scenery. I enjoyed it very much. this is early in the series, but it has much potential for development. I will go back and read the earlier books of the series.
