As a longtime fan of Stan Lee and all comics Marvel, I was utterly devastated when his passing was announced. We had lost one of the greatest minds to have ever existed. So you can only imagine that I was thrilled beyond all belief to find out one of the last projects he invested his time and imagination in was an Audible Original. Without dishing out any spoilers, Stan Lee’s Alliances: A Trick of Light was literally one of the funniest and most delightful listens I’ve experienced. Given the chance at internet fame, Cameron is caught up in the eye of a serious situation that gives him supernatural abilities. This leads him to form an unlikely bond with a sheltered, mysterious girl, Nia, who has some pretty interesting powers of her own. The interactions between these out-of-this-world, yet relatable characters are beautifully brought to life by the amazing performance of narrator Yara Shahidi.

2045, the Arctic Circle. A crew of six aboard the research vessel, The Nox, embark upon a voyage through the melting ice and Arctic dark in search of the last of the polar bears. The mission represents a ray of hope in a world ravaged by climate change, but it quickly becomes clear that some on board are in search of more than bears. Isolation and the disorientation of 24/7 darkness soon have the group losing their grip on reality – accidents, nightmares, or hauntings – no one can be sure, but the voyage seems cursed.

Whole thing is just.a prequel to the 1st, non-free Audiobook
The Fathers names both begin with W - Makes it hard to follow. Wesley is Olivia's father - You'll want to remember that.

the stories worth it
The story is worth the mental anguish of listening to Wil Wheaton read it. no matter how I adjusted the speed he speed through things, enunciated words word and any word with an "O" in it he literally oooooo'd it very nasally

No balance
This book is okay except for it spends way too much time on explaining how the characters feel or their thoughts compared to the moments of what is happening at that point. A good book or a great book has balance. Listening to it, you can easily get lost in the inner monologue.

Expected better. I stopped after a few chapters because it's copies ideas from
Ready Player One, which wasn't that great to begin with.

Just as good as the first one.
Excellent voices. Good story that reama8ms interesting till the end. I HIGHLY recommend both books. Love this universe and want more.
