Editorial reviews

Edward Ferrie’s retelling of one of the most well-known of all Greek myths, in which the legendary ancient musician and poet Orpheus, still reeling from the sudden death of Eurydice, successfully implores Hades and Persephone, rulers of the underwood, to revive his beloved wife, but who tragically forgets to adhere to the caveat they impose upon her return to Earth.

Benjamin Soames’ inviting, genial tone and energetic performance infuses this 30-minute book with life, making it immensely enjoyable and palatable to all audiences.

Publisher's summary

This is a story from the More Tales from the Greek Legends collection.

Bellerophon and the winged horse Pegasus launch into the blue sky in search of the dreaded three-headed Chimera, but will success go to the hero's head? Orpheus, devastated by the death of his wife, Eurydice, dares the dangers of the kingdom of the dead in an attempt to bring her back to life. Echo loves Narcissus but he only loves himself: a story that can only end in sadness. These and other colourful legends from Ancient Greece are retold in lively form by Benjamin Soames, with classical music providing further excitement.

Brings Mythology to Life

I love Greek Mythology, and this book is now one of my favorites. The narration is brilliant, really bringing this wonderful old myth to life. Eager to get into some more from this series.

This was amazing!

This kept me so interested and invested! The overall story was told in a way that gave me a new perspective on Hades. Orpheus is amazing but so relatable in his genuine and soft nature.
