Story
In the wake of a scandal, the Montrose family and their three daughters - Catherine, Lydia and Emeline - flee Boston for their new country home, Willow Hall. The estate seems sleepy and idyllic. But a subtle menace creeps into the atmosphere, remnants of a dark history that call to Lydia, and to the youngest, Emeline. All three daughters will be irrevocably changed by what follows, but none more than Lydia, who must draw on a power she never knew she possessed if she wants to protect those she loves. For Willow Hall’s secrets will rise, in the end....

Story
Since birth, Nyx has been betrothed to the evil ruler of her kingdom - all because of a reckless bargain her father struck. And since birth, she has been training to kill him. Betrayed by her family yet bound to obey, Nyx rails against her fate. Still, on her 17th birthday, she abandons everything she's ever known to marry the all-powerful, immortal Ignifex. Her plan? Seduce him, disarm him, and break the 900-year-old curse he put on her people. But Ignifex is not what Nyx expected. The strangely charming lord beguiles her, and his castle - a shifting maze of magical rooms - enthralls her.

It once seemed so easy to Prince Rhen, the heir to Emberfall. Cursed by a powerful enchantress to repeat the autumn of his 18th year over and over, he knew he could be saved if a girl fell for him. But that was before he learned that at the end of each autumn, he would turn into a vicious beast hell-bent on destruction. That was before he destroyed his castle, his family, and every last shred of hope.

Story
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them. With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success.

Plagued by a dangerous power she can't control, at least she knows that in the Wilderwood, she can't hurt those she loves. Again. But the legends lie. The Wolf is a man, not a monster. Publisher's summary
New York Times best-selling author Meagan Spooner spins a thoroughly thrilling Beauty and the Beast story for the modern age, expertly woven with spellbinding romance, intrigue, and suspense that listeners won't soon be able to forget.
Beauty knows the Beast's forest in her bones - and in her blood. After all, her father is the only hunter who's ever come close to discovering its secrets. So when her father loses his fortune and moves Yeva and her sisters out of their comfortable home among the aristocracy and back to the outskirts of town, Yeva is secretly relieved. Out in the wilderness, there's no pressure to make idle chatter with vapid baronessas or to submit to marrying a wealthy gentleman. But Yeva's father's misfortune may have cost him his mind, and when he goes missing in the woods, Yeva sets her sights on one prey: the creature he'd been obsessively tracking just before his disappearance. The Beast.
Deaf to her sisters' protests, Yeva hunts this strange creature back into his own territory - a cursed valley, a ruined castle, and a world of magical creatures that Yeva's only heard about in fairy tales. A world that can bring her ruin - or salvation. Who will survive: the Beauty or the Beast?

On her 19th birthday, Princess Kelsea Raleigh Glynn, raised in exile, sets out on a perilous journey back to the castle of her birth to ascend her rightful throne. a new angle on an old tale
This writer has successfully reinvigorated a long loved fairy tale. The world woven of words builds from something mundane and easily relatable to a world of magic; a world with it's very own set of rules. This book could have quite easily been drug out over several volumes but I'm heartily glad that the writer kept the story moving along without overburdening the reader with detail that our imaginations are perfectly capable of providing.

An excellent story!
Megan Spooner is a very talented storyteller. I enjoyed this version of a familiar tale and recommend reading it. You will be pleased with the twists.

Interesting But Ultimately Disappointing
This retelling of Beauty and the Beast is interesting, but its ending is disappointing and seems hurried and disjointed from its lead up.

Very sweet
I enjoyed this book and which there was even more of it! Very creative and original for technically being a retake on Beauty and the Beast! Worth your time!

So well written, so we'll performed. Fantastic!
I am so pleased Kylie Scott tweeted about this book. It is such a familiar tale that I was surprised to find myself so engrossed, as if I had never heard it before. Not one single second was wasted acknowledging the narrators because they were so perfect for this story it was as if they did not exist. I would recommend this book to anyone. Thank you!

Great retelling of Beauty and the Beast
I really enjoyed this book. I think the only downside was that I kept picturing the beast as the Disney cartoon character? LOL! I guess the pacing was slow but that fit the story and the solitude of being alone in the woods.
