Publisher's summary

The Emperor of the Forge, Sage of Stones - meaningless titles in the face of death.

After more than 700 years, he was expecting a peaceful and lonely end to his long life. That, however, was not meant to be. A single choice changed his fate, and his soul was forced to live again as a dungeon. Reborn but shackled to the heart of a mountain. This old soul has lost everything - and more.

In a world of gods and demons, there is no room for a weak newborn dungeon. Now with a new name, Smit and his creations will have to carve out their own place. The path may be long and dangerous, but with a soul hardier than stone and a will stronger than iron, will he be able to forge his own destiny?

“Debut author David Sanchez-Ponton knocks it out of the park with a brand-new Dungeon Core Novel that is sure to be up there with the likes of Divine Dungeon, Rogue Dungeon, and Bone Dungeon. Give this one a read - you won't regret it for a second!" (James A. Hunter, best-selling author of Rogue Dungeon, Bibliomancer, and Viridian Gate Online.)

These type of books need warnings please.

Guy was supposedly a dwarf in his 700 years of life before becoming a dungeon core. Yet his first thought when he makes his assistant is a hot 17 year old human like female because ??? like why point out that she is supposed to be 17? so we can know for sure that its pedophilia the author had in mind or what? maybe I am overly sensitive.

Simple vocabulary and a hard to listen to Narrator

Story was very repetitive in how it kept going over how beautiful and awesome the dungeon was. It was shown from multiple characters points of view and multiple times all using the same language. It would have been more interesting if the author had used other words from other points of view.

The narrator for this book add very hard sentence endings where there were periods. He basically broke up the flow of the narration. Occasionally even where there were commas it was a hard sentence stop.

Not a good product

The premise of this book is good but the execution was sadly not. I listened to most of it but I won’t go back to this author again in the future.

The writing is sloppy and very very very repetitive. Whole chapters of this books are meetings that would have earned a casual mention in other books.

This feels like a school paper that nobody edited or reviewed before publishing and it made me angry more than a few times listening to it, just how sloppy it was.

On top of it all I am convinced that the narration in this audiobook is a collection of robot voices that the author put together himself as a project. There are a lot of different voiceactors and dialects but most sound like robots and read like robots.

Amazon should flag self published works, this ruined my day knowing I wasted so much money on it…

WTF with the abrupt as hell ending

great book overall but the book feels like it ended mid thought it was so abrupt i thought the app restarted to book (as it tends to do) i mean there is literally no feeling of it being the end of anything but a chapter no cliffhanger even

Divine dungeon, but bad

This book was heavily inspired by Divine dungeon. The main character is haughty, unlikable, completely overpowered, and a Gary Sue. He would have had people to rein him in, but everyone damn near worships him. He is amazing at everything and with only a bit of hard work, surpasses his own expectations. There is no meaningful conflict. The dungeon is barely a few months old, and the unexplained ranking system says C rank adventurers can't beat it. His limits were never tested.

There's an unwritten rule in making a story, that if you don't have to include r*pe, then don't. The author needlessly adds it in for flavor text. There's nothing in this book you can't get in another book.

hmmm.

I wanted to like this. I really did. Love dungeons and crafting. .....but...You need character to make a story and unfortunately this had all the life and soul of a textbook on tax law as read by Ben Stein

I ❤ this one!

I loved this book! This is the story of how an ancient, powerful Dwarf (named Smit) became a Dungeon-Heart, and the soul of the mountain! when Smit "wakes" after dying, he discovers how vulnerable he is as a newly formed Dungeon Heart. But starting out from scratch doesn't scare him off, and since all his memories are intact he sets to cultivating, gaining both stats and power in order to set up a proper Dungeon! A dungeon that's inticing enough to draw Hero's in but challenging enough to keep them on their toes, and dropping enough cool loot so that they'll want to come back! And Smit has a lot of work to do, plus as a master craftsman in his previous life, he'll get it done right! Smit's dungeon HAS to be both aesthetically pleasing, and challenging as well!
Henry Kramer's narration was quite good too, so overall 4.5  genre specific ⭐'s 😊👍

Stilted and awkward

I couldn't get through the book so it might improve later, but all of the speech and even some of the descriptions were just awkward. Nothing in the two hours I listened to flowed naturally. It's unfortunate because it seemed like the story was going to be interesting, but I just couldn't do it.
