Resumen del Editor

Thomas Paine published Common Sense in 1776, a time when America was a hotbed of revolution. The pamphlet, which called for America's political freedom, sold more than 150,000 copies in three months. Paine not only spurred his fellow Americans to action but soon came to symbolize the spirit of the Revolution itself. His persuasive pieces, written so elegantly, spoke to the hearts and minds of all those fighting for freedom from England.

Great read for everyone to remember what independence is about

Thomas paine’s common sense is a great listen for those who found value and dont discriminate people based on religion and spoke against enslavement of people in the Americas. If you listen close Paine argues for a separation of Church and Politics (appendix) thats a great reminder for people in America today that government and society are too separate things. And using government to force society to remain stagnant is poison to our very foundation. He says America should be free of kings rule and pity wars and shouldn’t have/had kept and connection with. Unfortunately that would remain true in the 1800’/ and on

Read it.

This book was one of the foundation and fundamental influences on America entering into the Revolutionary war. Read it and understand the mindset of the time and how we should possibly should view things now.

A Truly American Piece

I think this piece more succinctly explains why the actions of King George III led so many American Colonists to secede from England. The explanations about why monarchy is not valid form of government for a Christian nation are really well done. I'm a little disappointed that so much time was spent on bashing on the Quakers. Still the arguments given as to why their reasonings didn't really work were well presented.

well narrated, awesome and timeless message.

I've listened to it many times now and have marveled at the bravery and foresight of Thomas Paine. It is also well narrated and gives you the feel of a colonial era debate tournament.
