Resumen del Editor

In Code Name Honey Bee, we look at how Intelligence Agencies help each other out on request. You may not know this, but the Great Game is in many ways a closed gentlemen’s club. The club members are known to each other and some may be called friends even if from different nations with vastly different political systems. Probably the only good reason to justify a spy agency’s existence is the ability to pass accurate messages between (at times enemy) governments. Therefore, spymasters constantly talk to each other. This does not make them traitors per se, they will not reveal more than what is needed but what they reveal will be true and must be reported accurately. An example in history was the John F Kennedy assassination. The head of the KGB was assuring his CIA counterpart, within seconds, that his service and country had nothing to do with the assassination (and up to this day that is true, the evidence is that Oswald acted alone, and this has never been proven otherwise). The Agencies will also do almost anything to protect a source inside another Agency. This is what happens in Code Name Honey Bee. Angelique is being protected by DGSE (the French), Mossad (the Jerusalem Waterworks as we call them) because she is sympathetic to their views on the War on Terror as would be Foxtrot and the rest of the Egg Breakers. Neither the French nor the Israelis, for vastly different reasons, can afford that Angelique Dawson dies, is detained or otherwise hurt in her career. The reason being if something untoward happens to her, they lose access and influence. In the background, I long wanted to write a book on the Special Forces skill of mountaineering. It is not the same as a jolly old climb on a sunny day for relaxation or, neither, like those of serious expeditions. Special Forces climbing is mostly done at night. Almost always in the rain and at all times silently with the climbers heavily loaded with gear. They run the risk of being ambushed whilst climbing, an automatic death sentence as you cannot defend yourself when exposed against a cliff. South African Special Forces, be it the Army Brigade or Police Unit, are expected to have all skills, including climbing mountains. Description: Geoffrey Foxtrot and Angelique Dawson, becoming more and more aware of her growing feelings for Foxtrot, are in the Drakensberg mountain range in South Africa. Angelique, spymaster extraordinaire, for security reasons, desires to meet with foreign spymasters on top of a mountain peak, where it is planned to privately exchange information. She does not trust any other place. Her own Service may be infiltrated by Muslim radicals and if so, they will intercept the meeting to the detriment of all. Foxtrot, her long time bodyguard and future husband, the former Police Special Forces Company Commander, is worried. Angelique has badly injured her shoulder in a previous mission and may not be able to climb as easily as she says she can. Geelslang Peter Ndebele, the legendary Special Forces officer and Foxtrot’s best friend goes with to ensure everyone’s safety and wonders why Angelique is meeting with both Mossad and DGSE (the French Spy Agency) in secret. It is agreed at the meeting to smuggle an intelligence source out of the country, helping Mossad out or perhaps not and it leads to Foxtrot being fed to hungry sharks. An incident that he is unlikely to forget and is still not amused about. But before that happens, they are trapped on the mountain cliff and need to get away in great haste by abseiling down in the darkness. If spotted they may well be murdered. If you wish to read about Covert and Special Forces Operations in sub-Saharan Africa, the GMJ Books are the place to start. You will learn about Special Forces techniques and military history not known outside the select few. This is book 10 of the popular GMJ Series.
