it was one of the sexiest fu€# scenes I have ever read…

At 5 hours and 50 mins, the scene was so hot, so exquisite, a vibrantly detailed series of mental pictures playing on a reel in my brain…I need me a “Butcher” real bad like…storyline was really good too. I loved Butcher and Blackbird, and as much as it might be a dark read, it was and it wasn’t…and the narration was so on point…Joe Arden and that Irish accent and the emotion he put into the story line at times is what tore me up and sold me on the story all over again…

Dark, Twisted & Hilarious~Brilliant Story & Listen

Get ready to love every minute of “Butcher & Blackbird,” a killer dark romantic comedy that will make you both laugh and cringe. Consider me thoroughly impressed and wowed by this book that blew me away like no other. The story drew me right in, grabbing my attention and holding it captive the entire time. Sloane and Rowen are both skilled at killing with similar purposes, which makes them competitors, particularly in the competition they were presented with. What could be more fun for these two, making a killer game out of catching a monster? Sloane is a legend in her own right. Rowen has his own reputation, but he was in awe of Sloane and her technique. Their competition turns into so much more when they realize they really like each other and wind up looking out for each other, even teaming up at some points. There was undeniable chemistry between them, and their equal level of depravity makes them even more compatible. I enjoyed getting to know these two and watching their relationship grow and morph into more. The writing and plotting are fantastic, as are the character growth and development, too. The dark humor is absolutely brilliant and so is the witty dialogue. It is always great to check out “new to me” authors and even greater when the book turns out to be a unique gem of a story. Brynne Weaver, thank you for this amazing story and wild ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Joe Arden and Lucy Rivers were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, giving them each a voice that was fitting and they were believable in every role they played. Rivers nailed it as Sloane, the fierce powerhouse, and Arden killed it as Rowen, accent and all. They handled the witty dialogue naturally and with ease, landing the humor effortlessly and never missing a beat. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this exceptional listen.

Absolutely phenomenal

Once again, Joe Arden and Lucy Rivers kill their performances. One of the best written, most organic, and beautifully portrayed romances I’ve read this year. The story is wickedly funny, sensual, beautiful, and really messed up in places. But that’s to be expected when your two main characters are also serial killers. Worth every penny and every hour spent. Can’t wait for the sequel. ♥️♥️

THE FREAKING BEST!!!!

This book has everything! It’s funny, witty, dark, spicy, strangers to friends to lovers, one bed, slow burn… it’s everything. I laughed so much and cried happy tears and just swooned. Joe Arden and Lucy Rivers are amazing in this. Their duet narration is everything I needed and wanted. I can listen to Joe Arden read the ikea instructions and it would be a 5 star review. I’m buying this book in all the versions available. Can’t wait for the other books that will be part of this trilogy.

WELL DESERVED 5 STAR REVIEW!
