Story
In a former life, Jack was gifted, meaning he possessed peculiar abilities. If rich folks found themselves in a jam, Jack could use his talents to get them out of it. Where others were sure to fail, Jack's aristocratic clientele could always count on him to finish jobs cleanly, efficiently, and leave no trace, for which his services commanded a hefty fee. But one day, Jack picked a fight with the wrong man and his old life came to an end. But, as it turned out, his story was far from over.

However, when destiny takes an unexpected turn, Sen finds himself thrust into the role of a cultivator’s disciple. Chosen over the nobles who once looked down on him, he is adopted into a makeshift family of three ancient cultivators, each with a lifetime of knowledge and insights. I was a Hunter, and I honored the Code. For my services to humanity and for leading a "proper" life, I was to be rewarded. A new life after death, and a new world to give me some well-deserved rest. But something went wrong. Once again, I must fight. The Monsters that face me here are far more terrifying than those of my past life. They are cleverer, crueler, more unpredictable. And their name is.

When it comes to action and adventure, every hero needs a good sidekick. Holmes has Watson, Batman has Robin, and Daniel has . . . Orrin. More like brothers than friends, they always have each other's backs. And as Daniel is the big, strong, handsome type, Orrin is more than happy to remain in his shadow at school, at parties, pretty much everywhere. Then things take a turn for the truly weird when a terrible accident catapults the pair into a world totally unlike their own, in which the rules of a role-playing game hold sway.

So he decides to change it. It was time to found a new sect. One based on the values of honor and equality over senseless violence and discrimination. A sect where all, from the mortal farmer’s son to a sect elder's daughter, were held accountable to the same rules.

As humanity is taking its final breath, facing extinction from a myriad of monsters, the last three people on earth are creating a final chance for the hero to go back in time and stop the apocalypse. However, before the hero can enter the chronomancer portal to the past, she and the portal's creator are both killed, leaving only the weak assistant to carry on their dream of saving the world. Will Nick be able to right the wrongs done to him, and prepare the hero for the world to come?

The ads enthused, "The virtual lands of Mirror World await you! Live out your most secret dreams in our world of Sword and Sorcery! Become a Great Wizard or a Famous Warrior! Build your own castle, tame a dragon, conquer a kingdom! All those desperate, lonely, and insecure - Mirror World offers you a chance!" But Oleg isn't meant to become a great wizard or a famous warrior. He'll never have a castle of his own. Nor will he ever tame a dragon. And he's definitely not the type to conquer a kingdom, however virtual it may be.

good story but not long enough
I'm not a big fan of 8hr audio books. i feel like these books would be excellent with a few more hours of content added. The Naration is excellent. The story intresting and grabed my attention from the start.

Worth the credit
Alexey Osadchuk Book 3 of the series continues to blend the story into both intrigue aplenty, daring adventure and royal machinations, all of which Max has to avoid where he can and intervene when he must. The number of characters influencing and impacting Max are numerous and continue to grow in this book. While this makes it more difficult to keep track of the characters in and of itself, it is made even more difficult considering that many of them are royals and are addressed with their full name and rank. Furthermore, their names are clearly French and the author expertly enunciates them with the heavy French dialect which often makes it more difficult to discern. Most of the narration is Max acting as a bard explaining the events. It's done surprisingly well.
Ryan Burke performance makes for a nice listening experience with the only drawback being my difficulty in discerning his expertly delivered French dialect.

First off, way too short. The political intrigues are entertaining. Max is just a boss! Can’t wait to see what he does next.

I'm almost certain that this is the best performance I've listened to so far and I have almost 300 books. I love this trope so I may be biased when it comes to the story but I love it so much and can't wait for more.
