The Art of War is considered the oldest recorded treatise on military strategy. Written around the year 500 BC, this book uncovers the secrets of logic and armament, outlines the systems of authority, explains the keys to communication and discipline, differentiates the levels of military rank, and above all establishes absolutely innovative guidelines for strategy that are still used today.
Its teachings go beyond the literal concept of “war.” For Sun Tzu, the successful person achieves his goals without devastating or humiliating others. The triumphant person prepares a tactic to achieve his goals, takes advantage of his opportunities, accepts his weaknesses, and recognizes his strengths. Those ideas led to the practice of applying the philosophy of The Art of War to questions of business and personal betterment.
The words of Sun Tzu are understood today as a manual for behaviors that help one defeat obstacles in various parts of life in order to achieve victory and exercise dominion over all who keep him from the path to success.

The Art of War, literally The Laws of War by Master Sun is the most famous ancient Chinese treatise, dedicated to a military strategy and policy, written by Sun Tzu. The treatise by Sun Tzu influenced crucially on a whole military art of the East. Although it is the first treatise on the military art, it includes clearly expressed common principles of strategy as well as tactics. A special place in a military theoretical literature belongs to comments on Sun Tzu, the earliest of which appeared in the Han era (206-220 AD), and the new ones are still being created.

The Art of War is one of the oldest and most successful books on military strategy. It has had an immence influence on eastern military thinking, business tactics and beyond. The Art of War dates back to the fifth century BC, and is an ancient Chinese military handbook. Attributed to the intelligent military strategist Sun Tzu, the title of the work is Master Sun's Rules of Warfare when literally translated from Chinese. The book contains 13 chapters, each of which are dedicated to a single aspect of warfare strategy. Emperor Shenzong of Song deemed it the most important of China's Seven Military Classics in 1080 and it is still one of the most influential strategy texts in East Asia.
