Really great book.
So if you’re looking for an *overall* accounting of D-Day then this is it. Shares US invasion and Brits/Canada. For me this was a starter book into DDay and it helped. What it is lacking is the story behind the heroes. If you’re looking for story or great fiction like intrigue this isn’t the book

Such an accurate and informative pie e on probably the most important day of the last 500 years. Stephen Ambrose has carefully captured the store as it was on that day, he's by far one of my favorite authors!

Amazing book.
Absolutely amazing book and narrator. Don't pass this one by, I think I will revisit this one, in full, every June 6th, to not only honor the memory of my great grandfather, whom "made it through" both World Wars, but to also honor those that have sacrificed so very much since the dawn of time in defiance of tyranny. As a Combat Veteran of both Afghanistan and Iraq myself, I can't say enough about this one.

Brilliant
