I have tried to show in this audiobook that as God is one, necessary for all of us, so religion is one, necessary and universal. Only the roads to it may differ in some respects at the beginning. As a matter of fact, it is ludicrous to say that there are two religions, when there is but one God. There may be two denominations or sects, but there is only one religion. What we now call different religions should be known as different denominations or sects under that one universal religion.

I have tried to show in this audiobook that as God is one, necessary for all of us, so religion is one, necessary and universal. Only the roads to it may differ in some respects at the beginning. As a matter of fact, it is ludicrous to say that there are two religions, when there is but one God. There may be two denominations or sects, but there is only one religion. What we now call different religions should be known as different denominations or sects under that one universal religion.

WORDS ARE INADEQUATE TO EXPRESS HOW TERRIFIC
Little did I know when I was given this book over 30 years ago, that it would have such a positive impact on my life. Yogananda has written one of the most extraordinary books on the subject of spirituality ever written that could only come from one who is truly an illumined being. The book has remained a spiritual classic for decades not only for its universal truths expounded upon through Yogananda's insights and training, but also for its entertaining and spellbinding reading. This book is responsible for changing many people's lives and views on the universality of religion. It is a MUST READ or LISTEN TO for anyone interested in metaphysics. I couldn't recommend it more highly. Ben Kingsley is excellent in his award winning reading of this superb book.

A spiritural delight
An excellent book that blends the life and times of a Yogi with his spirituality. This book is filled with information about the cross over between the various religions of the Earth's people and how these religions all have a deep seated link. A wonderful look that explains the concept of one with the Universe in straight forward terms that are easy to follow. Included in his dialog is why this is so. Finally, a great deal of historical information spanning 70 years of a truly unique and great teacher is included to help the reader follow the life and times of Paramahansa Yogananda..

Perhaps the most important part of the 20th century
I had already read this classic but hearing Ben Kingsley read it gives it a whole new dimension. In any case, both on paper and on Audible this is a life-changing read. I only wish it were 10 times longer so I could just keep listening. If you are torn or confused about religion, science, and what on earth we’re all doing here, listen to this glorious story with an open mind. You’ll be very glad you did.

Spiritual Seekers
This is a great book for spiritual seekers. Some of Yogananda's beginning stories mentioning power/miracles seem egotistical and lacking Love/purpose, but the book gives way to a real masterpiece of spiritual seeking. Highly recommended.
