This is a short love story from the Vietnam era told from the woman's perspective. A love triangle becomes intense when emotions get out of control and one of the three ends up briefly in a psych ward. Chloe reflects on a choice she made and recalls some moments of passion. Excerpt 1 - Gerry reached over and placed Brad’s hand on my bare leg. Brad’s eyes lit up. Gerry gently slid Brad’s hand up along my soft thigh. Brad’s eyes opened wide. As Brad and I once again looked intently into one another’s eyes, Gerry placed Brad’s hand in his and slid it all the way under my skirt and up between my legs. With each fellow’s hand gently but sensuously planted there at the same time, it was my baby blues that now opened wide. I moved in for another kiss, and we resumed our moment of passion. Our relationship was suddenly at that new level. #2 - Half of the fraternity brothers secretly indulged in occasionally smoking marijuana, the other half had no idea such a thing was even happening. Gerry was in one half, Brad in the other. One evening when Gerry was busy studying for an exam, Brad swore me to secrecy and led me into a special smoking room. There were black lights and funky music, along with munchies being passed around. A couple of the guys were rolling joints and passing those around, too. One of the farm boys had been growing some of the special weed and it had been named after the local county, affectionately called “Tippecanoe Gold”. “We’ve got over forty pounds of this stuff, sweetie,” one of the long-haired fellows told me. “We may not have quality, but we got quantity, baby. #3 - “Skimming?” he asked softly as he tenderly lurched forward again. Barely able to speak, I muttered, “That’s what I call it when I have multiple orgasms, my love. It’s like skimming a stone across the pond when you throw it just right, it happens over and over again. I’ve never experienced it until just now. Oh baby, you’re so good for me!” #4 - I learned of a similar college protest at a school called Kent State, only this time it had been the school’s ROTC that came to break it up rather that the police. Instead of batons, they used rifles. Instead of blanks, they used live ammunition. Many of those dissident students, as well as others simply on their way to class, died that day. #5 - “Shouldn’t the nurse be here for that?” I asked, still in my semi-drugged state, feeling uncomfortable with this strange man. He walked around behind me and undid the tie holding my gown together. It dropped to the floor. He closely examined every inch of my flesh, and then returned to his desk chair to make some notes and give some dictation, leaving me standing there alone and totally nude. “May I get dressed now, doctor?” I asked.
