  • “THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE: A HISTORY OF MYSTERY” and more True Ocean Terrors! #WeirdDarkness
    Jun 11 2024
The Bermuda Triangle, also called the Devil's Triangle, is a famous part of the ocean where many ships and planes have mysteriously disappeared. Located between Bermuda, Puerto Rico, and the tip of Florida, this area has puzzled people for over 100 years. From the spooky disappearance of the USS Cyclops with 306 crew members in 1918 to the more recent sinking of the SS El Faro in 2015, the Bermuda Triangle becomes more mysterious year after year. Tonight we’ll look at some of the strangest events in the Triangle, like Flight 19, which vanished during a routine training mission; and the Witchcraft, a boat that disappeared just minutes after calling for help. We'll explore different ideas about why these things happen, from natural explanations like methane gas bubbles to wild theories like alien abductions. We’ll look at other locations around the world similar to the Bermuda Triangle that don’t get the same recognition – but are just as mysterious. And while we’re in the water, we’ll touch on a few ocean ghost stories, and reports of sea monsters. So before we get started, if you tend to get sea sick, you might want to grab your Dramamine.

  • “LINDBERGH CONSPIRACY: DID HE KILL HIS SON? OR IS AN OHIO MAN THE BABY?” #WeirdDarkness #Darkives
    Jun 11 2024
IN THIS EPISODE: An elderly Ohio retiree who looks like the famed aviator, Charles Lindbergh, wonders about a great-aunt's allegation that his mother switched her son in 1932 for the kidnapped Lindbergh baby in New Jersey. It's a far-fetched story – but many believe it might be true due to some amazing circumstances. Plus… given Charles Lindbergh's stature as an international hero, investigators in 1932 didn't consider the unthinkable... that Lindbergh may have killed his own son.

  • “The Case Of The Lady Of The Dunes” #MurderNoir
    Jun 11 2024
THE TRUE CASE THIS STORY IS BASED ON: In the summer of 1974, Provincetown, MA, was shaken by the discovery of a woman's body near one of its famous beaches. Nicknamed "The Lady of the Dunes," her identity remained a mystery for nearly fifty years. Police found her with crushed skull, missing hands, and removed teeth, likely to prevent identification. The case sparked numerous theories, including possible connections to a serial killer or a background role in the movie Jaws. Despite exhaustive efforts and multiple exhumations, no definitive leads emerged for decades. In October 2022, the FBI finally identified the Lady of the Dunes as Ruth Marie Terry through investigative genealogy. A year later, authorities named her husband, Guy Rockwell Muldavin, as her killer. Muldavin, who had a history of violence and was suspected in other deaths, had died in 2002, leaving many questions unanswered. The identification of Terry and the resolution of the case brought some closure to a mystery that had haunted the Cape Cod community for decades.
